General Practitioner

A highly rewarding opportunity for a rural General Practitioner to join the well regarded Yackandandah Health Medical Centre in Yackandandah. This practice is co located with residential aged care and retirement living facilities. You would be joining a small team, including a visiting Dietician and Diabetes Educator. Our Clinic hours are Monday, Wed and Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm, and we would hope with your help to offer an evening session/s and to increase the Clinic hours to a fulltime service. The clinic has the full support from the local community.

Practice Details

In September 2017, Yackandandah Health resumed management of the medical practice.

Dr Tess Goodwin is our General Practitioner. 

The patient demographic ensures a broad variety of clinical scenarios. Excellent orientation and mentorship is available to the successful candidate together with support to assist you in settling into the community.

Yackandandah is within the Indigo Shire; a friendly, welcoming and inclusive community that values freedom and space. Yack has a strong connection to renewable energy/resources and volunteering culture. The district hosts a number of sporting competitions including cricket, football, netball, tennis and golf.

Yack draws in surrounding rural communities with its choice of schools, agricultural support services and strong health sector. Located a short stroll to the charming Yackandandah streetscape, you will be able to enjoy the cafes, specialty shops and galleries.  A shuttle bus will provide drop off and pick up trips to the CBD twice a day. Yack (population approximately 2,000) is located in the north east of Victoria and supports a region of approx.. 3000 people. Yackandandah Health is a community owned, not-for-profit organisation, nestled in the beautiful Yackandandah Valley in north-east Victoria. Education facilities includes childcare, kindergartens, primary school and secondary school.


All new employees to Yackandandah Health are required to provide a current National Police Check.
